Synopsis

Winner of the 2025 Poolitzer Prize! The Places I Love to Poop On is a hilariously quirky and heartwarming children's book that takes readers on a whimsical journey through the eyes of Peggy, a sassy New York City pigeon with a peculiar mission: pooping on her favorite spots around the city!

With colorful, hand-painted (not AI) acrylic on canvas illustrations and a delightful mix of humor and charm, this story weaves in stoic lessons about mindfulness, resilience, and letting go—told through the most unexpected of adventures.

Perfect for kids who love to giggle and grown-ups who appreciate a touch of wit, The Places I Love to Poop On is a joyful celebration of finding humor in life’s messes and learning to embrace what comes your way.

Ideal for children ages 3-7 (and anyone who loves a good laugh), this book will become a treasured favorite in your home library. Join Peggy and discover that sometimes, the best way to move forward is to simply let it be!

From the author: I want to spread joy and laughter around the world while highlighting the importance of letting go—an essential lesson for both children and adults. Too often, we carry pain, trauma, anger, sadness, and other difficult emotions. These feelings are natural to experience but not something we should hold on to, as it’s like lugging around a heavy bag of bricks all day. The quickest way to feel better is simply to let go.

I’ve spent time on silent retreats, explored meditation, and delved into Buddhism, Stoicism and various religions—and after all of that, the simplest and most powerful truth I’ve found is this: letting go.
