Synopsis

Haworth Timelines is a profusely illustrated book for a popular market and gives a broad history from industrial village to the picturesque place of twenty-first century literary pilgrimage. The Journal of the Brontė Society

Step back to the time of the Brontė sisters and see what life was like in the Yorkshire village of Haworth in this new local history book.

This book is sure to fascinate anyone with an interest in Haworth, the Brontės and their time living there.

At that time, Haworth was a thriving industrial town in the unlikely rural position among the Yorkshire Dales and hills near Bradford. Whilst still an agricultural community, the town now enjoys tourism and the outdoor life.

This book, by renowned Yorkshire writer and historian Paul Chrystal, looks at the history of Haworth from its early days, through to the present. It uses historic photographs and images to show what the streets, houses and people looked like in different time periods, including the various locations associated with the Brontės.

No other book on Haworth covers the history of the town up to the present day in such colour.
