Synopsis
The Beef Bandit is a laugh-out-loud mystery starring Easton, a lovable rescue dog with a big heart—and an even bigger appetite.
When a pan of shepherd’s pie beef mysteriously disappears, Mom launches a household investigation. The fish denies it. The parakeet pleads innocence. The cat insists it’s been napping all day. Even the kids have alibis. But sneaky clues—paw prints, peas, and a suspicious burp—begin to tell a different story.
As the truth comes out, Easton must own up to his crime and learn that being part of a family means teamwork, patience, and sharing the pie—every ingredient included. Packed with rhythm, repetition, and delightful illustrations, this story is perfect for read-alouds and budding detectives.
- Easton’s fifth adventure is here! The Beef Bandit continues the beloved The Adventures of Easton the Rescue Pet series, following the mischievous and loveable rescue dog Easton on another laugh-out-loud adventure. More books coming in 2027.
- Each book includes playful illustrations and a real shepherd’s pie recipe, giving families a fun, hands-on activity to extend the reading experience.
- Elizabeth Retter is experienced at school visits, storytimes, and community events, bringing the story to life for readers wherever she goes.
- Easton has his own theme song that can be found on the author's website.
- Rescue pets are an underrepresented theme in children's books, making this series appealing to animal lovers, pet supply stores, vet offices, and libraries.
- Elizabeth Retter has been featured in multiple media outlets including Entertainment Monthly News.
