Synopsis

What if your child could learn to challenge the voice that says, “I can’t”, and replace it with the confidence to say, “I can”?

From Mom’s Choice Award® recipient Cathy Domoney comes The Magic Is Inside You, an empowering illustrated story that helps children understand their thoughts, manage negative self-talk and develop a more positive, resilient and confident mindset.

Join Madeleine as she discovers that she does not have to believe every negative thought that enters her mind. Through a relatable story and beautiful illustrations, children learn that they can take charge of their inner dialogue, shift unhelpful thinking and recognise the strength already inside them.

More than a beautiful children’s story, this book gives adults practical ways to continue the conversation. The exclusive resource section includes simple activities and strategies for parents, teachers, carers and professionals to use with children to support:

• Positive self-esteem and confidence
• Healthier responses to negative thoughts
• Emotional awareness and self-expression
• Resilience and problem-solving
• A powerful, positive “I can” mindset
• Meaningful conversations between children and trusted adults

At a time when children are experiencing increasing academic, social and emotional pressures, The Magic Is Inside You offers them language they can understand and tools they can begin using in everyday life.

“Books such as The Magic Is Inside You provide children with the words to express themselves and shine a mirror on situations or emotions that they may be experiencing.”

— Megan Daley, Children’s Books Daily

About this title

About the Author

Cathy Domoney works as a coach and inspirational speaker, focussing on self-esteem and confidence work with clients both young and old, as well as holding teaching seminars on living with the law of attraction, successful parenting and theories of modern-day philosophers. Cathy is a qualified primary teacher of eighteen years and is passionate about self-esteem and confidence work with adults and children alike. She holds Diplomas in Hypnotherapy and Counselling, and also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and has extensively studied and practiced Life Coaching. Cathy discovered early on in her teaching career how vital a pupil's view of themselves and their capabilities was to their academic attainment, behaviour, and happiness. When teaching full time, she held the position of personal, health, social, and moral education coordinator. This allowed her to work directly with pupils and colleagues on self-esteem issues, and she saw how positive thinking could powerfully impact a child’s experience in the world. Cathy's mission is to raise the confidence of as many children as she can through her stories and help them to achieve the individual greatness that each child has inside of them. She hopes that this can contribute to a much happier, more well-rounded future generation. Cathy was born and raised in Wiltshire, England. She now resides happily in Adelaide, South Australia, with her husband, Ian, and their five wonderful children.
