About this title

About the Author

The author was born in Springs, South Africa. He immigrated to Canada in 1977 with His parents and siblings. He completed two degrees from the University of Alberta before coming down with a mental illness known as schizophrenia in 1992. The illness became for him what Saint John of the Cross describes as the Dark Night of the Soul. It is out of this illness that this book is inspired. Rene currently works at a Shelter in Vancouver but lives in Burnaby, BC.
