About the Author

Marinel J. Poppie was raised in Montana where she was active in high school and college rodeo and ski teams. She attended Colorado, Montana and Washington Universities, receiving her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, and has been an active equine veterinarian for 46 years. She has trained and shown nearly every type of horse including reining stock horses, hunters, and jumpers, gaited horses and trick horses. She has completed several 100 mile endurances races. Fascinated by the beauty of Montana and the Southwest, she is very involved in the daily tasks of the working rancher. Her artwork of watercolors, oils and bronze are exhibited and sold in Montana, Arizona, and New Mexico. She is presently owner and manager of the Rocking Arrow Cattle Company near Glenwood, New Mexico. This is her eighth novel.
