The Blue Mist is a guidebook on human factors told in a personel way. Tony Laws takes you on a journey through human factors training which is based on his own experiences and research, that has come from a career in military and civilian aviation industries that spans over thirty years and in many parts of the world. In the book he looks at incidents that have occurred to his colleagues or himself, giving a personnel view and relating it to a human factors theme. Also he also looks at three case studies from the aviation, maritime and rail industries; concentrating on the human elements in each case study. He has been licensed by the CAA as a CRMI, is a certified CASA Threat and Error Management instructor and has a unique perspective on human factors, as he has held qualifications as a Pilot, Navigator and an Aircrewman. He has also advised on accident investigations and is a current Technical Crew Examiner in Australia. His passionate about Search and Rescue and has written Human Factors and SAR training programs with a view to creating safe and enjoyable training. The founder of an aviation consultancy company, he enjoys creating training programs and teaching and facilitating, human factors training. It is his first book and is written in a style that allows a reader with no formal knowledge of human factors to relate to and gain a basic understanding of the basic fundamentals of the subject.
