Synopsis
E. J. Evans writes lyrical meditative poems driven by awe, wonder and reverence for the human condition. In this collection, The Secret History of Summer, there are poems of love and hope, and poems of loss and estrangement. They are part of a long process of inquiry into the nature of the author's place in human life. Many of the poems are concerned with trying to understand the changing of the self and its path through the world, especially after having gone through difficult life passages. About the Author
E. J. Evans is a poet, musician, and artist. His poetry has been published in Poetry East, Rattle, The Midwest Quarterly, Confrontation, and many other journals. He is the author of Ghost Houses (Clare Songbirds, 2021), Conversations with the Horizon (Box Turtle Press, 2019), and the chapbook First Snow Coming (Kattywompus Press, 2015). Evans has lived in California and Florida, and now lives in Cazenovia, New York. He plays shakuhachi, ney, and Irish flute.
