Synopsis

No good deed goes unpunished…

Eighteen years of surviving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland has taught Sebastian Yun a few simple, life-or-death rules.

• Monsters suck and deserve to die. No exceptions.
• Don’t get attached to anyone. No point since everybody’s living on borrowed time.
• And never put your neck on the line for other people. See above.

Unfortunately, his grump of a traveling companion refuses to see reason and insists on being a helpful member of what passes for society. So when they come across strangers stranded on the side of the road, Meza annoyingly makes up her mind to lend a helping hand.

But Sebastian smells a trap.

Inevitably, disaster strikes. And it’s even worse than he predicted. After losing more than he bargained for, he’s forced to make a choice:

Can he stick to his tried and true rules of self-preservation? Or will he rely on help from a creature he despises to make things right?

Jump into this engrossing installment of the Monk & Robot meets Twisted Metal and Fallout series full of characters you’ll get way too attached to. If you like reluctant heroes, earnest monsters, and uneasy alliances, then you’ll love this futuristic post-apocalyptic novel!
