Synopsis

Camila y Lucas is a beautifully structured decodable reader from the Hola Books Yellow Series, specially designed for kindergarten students learning to read in Spanish. This book includes three engaging stories that follow siblings Camila and Lucas as they navigate everyday moments filled with warmth, humor, and family connection.

In La muñeca de Camila, Camila accidentally leaves her favorite doll, Rubí, behind on a trip to the farm. With the help of her family-and a sweet dog named Alisa-Camila solves the mystery and finds Rubí safe and sound.

In La bolsa de mamá, Camila and Lucas prepare for a trip to the countryside. As Mamá fills her oversized bag with every possible item they might need (including snacks, diapers, toys, and even their pet Luna!), the story highlights the practical love and chaos of family outings.

In the final story, El despegue, the family boards an airplane to visit friends. Lucas and Camila enjoy the excitement of lift-off, the view from the sky, and a joyful reunion filled with warm hugs and a delicious meal.

The book supports early literacy through syllable practice, decodable word patterns, and repetition-all while offering culturally relevant content that celebrates family, food, imagination, and daily adventures. A nonfiction section and reflective comprehension prompts accompany each story to deepen vocabulary and understanding.
