Synopsis

The Folklore of Plants: Botanical Spells and Rituals

The Folklore of Plants is a hands-on, spirit-led guide to working with herbs, roots, flowers, and trees in folk magic. Written for conjure workers, witches, spiritual herbalists, and magical practitioners of all levels, this book blends traditional plant lore with real-world spellwork, offering a grounded and deeply reverent path for anyone who wants to walk in right relationship with the green world.

This is not a beginner’s herb dictionary or a cookbook of recycled spells. It’s a living archive of how plants have been used across cultures to heal, to hex, to bless, to bury, and to transform. With 74 distinct spells and rituals and over 70 magical plants covered, this book shows you how to work with plant spirits in a way that’s respectful, powerful, and rooted in ancestral knowledge.

You’ll learn how to identify magical herbs by their energy and folklore—not just their names. You’ll discover the difference between baneful and blessing plants, and how to work with both. From spiritual baths and candle dressing to grave flower offerings and seed magic, each chapter gives you practical, spiritually responsible techniques to use in real-life conditions.

Some of what’s inside:

• How to build a magical herb cabinet for cleansing, love, protection, and curse work

• Rituals for working with ancestor plants, tree spirits, and flower offerings

• How to time your spellwork using the moon, planets, and plant cycles

• Banishing and binding with mustard seed, poppy, black cohosh, and more

• Spellcasting with roots like hyssop, calamus, devil’s shoe string, and agrimony

• Working with flowers for grief, love, and spirit communication

• Seed magic for manifestation, reversal, and spiritual release

• Divination using yarrow, vervain, dandelion, and natural signs

• Shadow work, graveyard rites, and dream spells using traditional herbs

• A full spell index and materia magica for quick reference

Whether you’re planting a seed for change, lighting a candle dressed in basil and rose, or offering marigolds at a gravesite, The Folklore of Plants teaches you how to do it with clarity, confidence, and care.

This book is written in a plainspoken, accessible tone—but make no mistake, the work is deep. It honors the land, the ancestors, and the spirits that live in leaf and root. Every spell, every ritual, and every teaching in these pages is built on the belief that plants are not tools. They’re teachers. And when you work with them properly, they don’t just help you cast magic—they help you become it.
