Synopsis

"FRIDAY MORNING, October 13. Not a lucky day. Mom and I enter the main building of Edison High School and walk down the hall... I try not to be nervous. But all the kids are looking at me. I don't know any of them."

School has often been a painful place for Alex Pruitt. Things get better when he enrolls at Edison High and joins the jazz band. But problems in math knock him down. He must find a way to stand up and step forward again.

At Finding Forward Books, we publish short novels for teens about issues faced by teens. Our goal is for students to improve their reading skills, increase their success in school, and develop positive attitudes.

The books are suitable for all teens, including English learners and students with learning disabilities. They are printed in Open Dyslexic, a font to accommodate persons with dyslexia. They are easy to read, with Lexile measures ranging from 390 to 560.

The books have been praised in Kirkus Reviews, Publishers Weekly BookLife Reviews, Foreword Clarion Reviews, and BlueInk Reviews.
