Synopsis

What if your child thought patience just meant “waiting quietly” — and missed the deeper life skill that shapes resilience, kindness, and joy?

In today’s fast-paced world, kids are encouraged to want everything now. But without patience, frustration grows quickly, and so do meltdowns. With patience, though, children learn to slow down, try again, and see the beauty in life’s timing.

I’m Patient Because I Am — part of the award-winning Because I Am series — is a social emotional learning picture book for kids ages 3–8 that shows little ones that patience isn’t just about waiting. It’s about growing, listening, and discovering that good things really do take time.

Follow our young hero on a journey where patience is found in:

• Nature’s pace — from raindrops on leaves to seeds slowly sprouting
• Friendship — listening, taking turns, and valuing others’ voices
• Learning — practicing skills without giving up when it gets tough
• Everyday life — baking, helping at home, and savoring special moments

✍️ Written and illustrated by Azizi Tuere — a homeschool mom of two daughters — this story is designed for families and educators who want to nurture calm, resilience, and kindness in a fun and relatable way.

Why parents, grandparents, and teachers love it:

• Helps kids handle frustration with confidence and calm
• Turns everyday waiting into meaningful growth moments
• Perfect for bedtime stories, classroom read-alouds, and SEL lessons
• Includes caregiver tips and activities to bring patience practice into daily life

✨ Don’t let impatience steal your child’s joy. Show them that patience is a superpower that transforms waiting into wonder — and challenges into triumphs.
