Synopsis

It was the Apostle Paul who declared in his letter to the Romans, "For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes..." (Romans 1:16). This truth must have resonated deeply with Paul, a former persecutor of the Church, who personally experienced the gospel's radical power to transform.

Miracle Lives of China paints a vivid portrait of this transformative power by telling the amazing and captivating stories of individuals-from addicted gamblers and learned scholars, to children, soldiers, and the aged-whose lives were radically altered by the redeeming power of the Gospel. This precious collection is a testament to God's enduring love. It reminds us that, regardless of our background or the depth of our sin, no life is beyond the reach of His saving grace.

Prolific author Rosalind Goforth, with her husband Jonathan, were Presbyterian missionaries in China from 1888 to 1935. They were pioneers in many ways, including "family ministry," where they included their children in their travels and evangelistic work. The family also endured harrowing trials and narrowly escaped death during the 1900 Boxer Rebellion. These delightful vignettes of transforming grace are gleaned from their personal experiences in China. From the preface, "For years we have felt a strong desire to put down in some permanent form the record of God's miraculous power in the conversion of men as we have seen it in our mission work in China."

First published in 1931, this Christian classic has been refreshed in order to be presented to a new audience.
