Synopsis

This collection is an ode to the divinity that is within us all, in spite of and due to the fuckery that surrounds us.

We Were Not Made to Be Small: A Collection of Dramatics is a raw, tender, and (at times) chaotic depiction of dismantling the ways in which we shrink ourselves within a world that was never meant to contain us. The poems are reckonings, reclamation, and odes to the selves we’ve been and the ones we are still becoming.

The collection itself navigates themes of love, loss, trust, distrust, and divinity. Inspired by the push and pull of longing, clarity found in quiet moments, and defiance found when we choose ourselves, this collection invites readers to step boldly into their own selves, because, after all, we were not made to be small.

For anyone who has ever been too much or not enough, for those who have bared themselves completely, for those who are sensitive souls, for those who are big feelers, and for those who refuse to be anything but whole, loud, unapologetically here: this book is for you.
