Synopsis

A domestic, psychological thriller from T.K. Richards.

Podcast host Sophia Malley interviews three women with colorful pasts. Each has agreed to tell their story of manipulation, deceit, and abuse in her safe space, offering her audience firsthand accounts of the unexpected dangers women face in relationships.

Kylah revisits her first few years of college where she stumbled to survive without help from her parents. Navigating in a world with blinders on, she quickly finds out that people are not who they portray themselves to be, and that the stories her grandmother once told her weren’t fairytales after all. They were more of a warning for people like Clay Anthony. The man that removes her rose-colored glasses to show her darkness exists in the world.

Deja recalls a time in her youth where her daddy issues played an intricate part in her making the wrong decisions when it came to love. The tricky four letter word that cast a spell on her when she graduated college. As a new employee in a management training program and rookie athlete on the local semi-pro team, Deja makes time for a personal life and meets Lamar Wilkins. The man who makes her question the energy she attracts, and teaches her that when a person shows you who they are the first time, you should believe them.

Mona Lisa shares two accounts of harmful exposure at the hands of men. One she refuses to name, and a stranger by the name of Dwight, who molded her current beliefs that there is no such thing as love in this world full of liars and lust. And that not all monsters look the way they do in the movies.

The three women tell their stories to Sophia, not knowing that their past traumas will be used to satisfy her dark secret. A secret she has maintained for years that she uses to balance the scale of life and death.
