Synopsis
In 1909 E.M Forster imagined an automated dystopia deep beneath Earth’s surface. The Machine provided generations of people with everything they could ever want or need. Tubes and wires connected countless isolated pods all over the world, each housing a person who spent their days sharing ideas with others through a screen. This century-old tale predicted our reliance on technological convenience and foresaw technologies such as the internet, social media, video chat, international air travel, and artificial intelligence.
