Synopsis
Gerald Westfall is thrown into the shark infested ocean when an explosion aboard the cruise liner results in the sinking of the ship. The ocean currents guide Gerald to a small tropical island where he takes shelter in a cave.
While exploring the cave, Gerald discovers there is a portal to another universe where he meets a family and the love of his life.
As a war wages in the land that Gerald discovers through the porthole Gerald and his new friends are forced to enter the portal and return to Gerald's world.
Seeking to change their lives they set themselves adrift in an indifferent ocean that separates them and changes their lives forever.
Immigration regulations, language and personal involvement greatly hinders their abilities to find each other.
Seeking to rejoin their love ones proves to be a hard and arduous task.

About the Author
Roland Vincent Boike was born October 28, 1930 at his family home in Madeira, Ohio. He is the son of Dr. Stephen Boike and Ludovica Rensi Boike and is one of seven children. During the Korean War, Roland served in 134th and the 147th Field Artillery as Chief of Section of a 105 Howitzers Battalion. Roland attended Western Kentucky State University, Ohio State Department of Agriculture and the University of Cincinnati Department of Applied Arts. He attended Lincoln College of Chiropractic and graduated in 1962 with a Degree in Chiropractic. Roland was a Staff Physician at Jewish Hospital in Kenwood, Ohio. He served as Team Physician for Loveland High School, Western Brown High School and Wilmington College Girls Soccer Team. Roland served as Mayor and Vice Mayor of Loveland, Ohio.
