About the Author

Chiatulah was born and brought up in 60s pre-gentrification southLondon to Igbo (Nigerian) parents. He attended Catholic primaryand secondary schools before spending 16 months in Nigeria, havingbeen tricked by relatives abroad. Chiatulah returned to Englandand obtained degrees in social science and social work before becominga probation officer in 1991, working with serious offendersand running a variety of specialist offender groups. In 1999, Chiatulahleft to establish a successful business that trains criminal justiceorganisations nationwide on Race Equality. Chiatulah still lives insouth London with his German wife. Black Lives Rising is his firstbook.
