About the Author

Dr. Bisa Batten Lewis, affectionately known as "Dr. Bisa," is an early learning and adult education expert, a professional development specialist, renowned public speaker, philanthropist and serial entrepreneur. A diversely experienced education authority, she founded Ideal Early Learning, LLC - an education consulting firm, WINGS Curriculum, LLC - a publisher of nationally recognized learning resources for children from infancy to age five, and the Dr. Bisa Foundation - a nonprofit organization supporting human rights to earn quality education and an honest living. Dr. Bisa's education career started in 1993 as a paraprofessional in an elementary school in south Georgia and has extended to the university level, both in the classroom and administration. She has worked as a first grade teacher, college professor, college dean, lab school director, Head Start Center Manager, and high school Career and Technical Education Instructor. Dr. Bisa earned Doctor of Education and Master of Education degrees in Adult Education at the University of Georgia and Master of Education and Bachelor of Science degrees in Early Childhood Education at Albany State University. She has authored college textbooks, children's books and music, WINGS: The Ideal Curriculum for Children in Preschool, and education and parenting articles in magazines and peer-reviewed journals.
