During a lull in the team's usual activities, Hank begins to investigate a case she has previously known about. When the evidence causes her to conclude that an innocent man was sent to jail, she fights to right the wrong she believes she has uncovered. Stonewalled by those in authority and even threatened to stop pursuing the case, she stands firm. But can she make her case for a wrongly-convicted man and gain him a pardon without compromising the unit?
As her teammates also become convinced of the man's innocence, they decide to pursue her goal with her. They face the same quandary: nothing can lead anyone investigating their actions back to them. Caught between the need to remain undercover and to perform the mission they have chosen, they must figure out how to reconcile the two objectives.
