Synopsis
Do you want to become a teacher? Then you need to pass the Praxis® Core Math or a similar state exam. The Praxis Core Mathematics (5732) exam is given by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). This exam contains 56 short-answer questions that you take in a computer-delivered manner in 85 minutes. The author is a college-math teacher who tutors students for this exam.
This book contains sample problems the author uses in tutoring students for the exam. These problems are harder than you will find in other study guides, but the author hopes you will be better prepared with harder problems than easier ones. The book contains problems for each major topic, two full sample exams, and the exam's problem solutions.

About the Author
Jerry Tuttle, FCAS, MA is an actuary (insurance mathematician) and is an online college math teacher. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in math from Queens College and a Master of Applied Math degree from the University of Virginia. He worked for a number of property-liability insurance companies as an actuary, while earning the insurance designations of Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe). He completed a Master of Arts in educational technology from New Jersey City University and has been an online college math teacher for several colleges for over 10 years. He actively tutors prospective teachers in person for the Praxis Core Math exam. Jerry is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges and several of their state affiliates. He is a frequent speaker at these organizations, speaking on topics such as copyright in math teaching, cartoons in math class, order of operations, and computer simulation. He also speaks to local high schools and colleges about actuarial careers. He has three sons, none of whom has inherited the math gene.
