Synopsis
Jason McGibbon says, "there was a season when I was really feeling like something was missing in how I was discipling others. It was not for lack of access to materials, Bible studies, or information. Between bookstores and the dawning internet age there were plenty of resources, but for some reason they seemed to miss the mark, be personality driven, or created short term buzz that didn’t last much past the length of the book.
There was a gentleman named Mike Hampton in my congregation who had spent over 18 years as a missionary overseas. One day I asked him what he used to disciple others without access to endless resources and pre-internet. He smiled and answered, “The Bible.” I asked if he would mentor me and walk me through how he did discipleship. He began with an initial study he’d put together based on an exploration of the word disciple(s) in the words of Jesus. What follows is based on those initial observations and applications."
