Synopsis
Rudolf Steiner's seminal lectures to the first teachers before the opening of the first Waldorf school called "The Study of Man" (or "Foundations of Human Experience" in the more recent edition) is a rich and systematic description of a new approach to education, made possible through Dr. Steiner's insights. He presented a completely revolutionary approach to education in this lecture, needed for the future of the children coming to the school and for all humanity. Many have struggled to comprehend these lectures as they are difficult to apprehend in many ways simply because they are so new and so different from the more materialistic thinking that supports current mainstream education. The Pedagogical Section Council of North America has developed these "Entry Points" to give teachers and parents ideas on how to study these crucial lectures to avoid getting "stuck" or giving up on penetrating with understanding these original lectures and these original ideas. Along with explanations of each class, helpful illustrations in footnotes, study questions with which to launch discussion, and additional commentary are provided. About the Author
Several members of the Pedagogical Section Council of North America contribute to this rich, insightful collection of "Entry Points." All of the contributors have years, and sometimes decades, of experience in the classroom. Longtime class teachers, special subject teachers, and teachers knowledgable about the Waldorf approach are included in elements of this book. It is designed to facilitate and enhance the study of the original lectures given by Rudolf Steiner.
