BARS is about my life. The title is symbolic because, for many years of my life, I felt as though I was a prisoner behind BARS. Every hurt, pain, disappointment, and rejection that I encountered erected invisible bars that held me back living a cyclical life, going around in circles and ending nowhere. Maybe you too, my friend, have experienced atrocities in your life, things that were out of your control but a part of your environment. Perhaps, like me, you accepted the abnormal as normal. I write my story as a testimony of healing and moving forward. I realize the past has gone and there’s nothing I can do to change it. However, the future is ahead of me and that my friend, gives me hope to make each day count! I have renewed hope and faith in God.
