Synopsis

Katrine of Banur doesn't want to wed. To escape her father's plans, she secretly applies for an apprenticeship at the illustrious Recorders School in Pardish. Only her friend, Polnu, knows her plans.

"Would marriage be so bad?" Polnu asked? "You're very good with your younger brothers and sisters. You'd make a fine mother."

Connie A. Walker has been an insatiable reader and a compulsive writer since childhood. She was born in Idaho, attended elementary school in Kansas, and graduated high school in Alaska. She has worked as a graphic artist, a technical writer, a foster care caseworker, a clinical social worker, and a mental health program manager.
