Synopsis

This is the English translation of Two Cats Sitting at a Window by acclaimed best-selling Vietnamese middle school and young adult/teen author Nguyen Nhat Anh. This is the prolific author's first fable. The key characters are Bear Cat, a white cat, and Tom Thumb, a Mouse that likes to draw. Bear Cat longs for Floral Top, a calico cat who is missing. What develops in this charming book is the unlikely friendship between Bear Cat, who has no interest in chasing mice like other cats, and Tom Thumb, two creatures who are supposed to be enemies. This fable, illustrated with black-and-white drawings by Do Hoang Turong, is appealing to all ages.

Praise:
“In Two Cats Sitting at a Window, Nguyen Nhat Anh tells stories about cats as vividly as stories about humans, and stories about humans as enchantingly as stories about cats, carrying the reader along page after page, only to leave them wistful and regretful when the book is closed.”
—Pham Xuan Nguyen, literary critic
