Synopsis
This book of poems and prose reflections looks to the past while offering keen observations and insights into our current state of affairs. Wistful musings, triggered by a visit to the author's childhood home in Milan, Italy, about watershed occurrences like September 11 and observations of his natural surroundings, alternate with lyric poems that celebrate love art, music and other momentary pleasures. A pensive sense that time is slipping away pervades - people inevitably hurried along by historical events and the bustle of everyday life - but there is also a deep appreciation for what is best in humanity along with gentle reminders of the eternal truths that govern our earthly existence.

About the Author
Piero Rivolta has been a poet all his life. While his careers have been many and varied, poetry and imagination have been central to all of his endeavors. He has created luxury Italian sports cars, raised jumping horses, developed real estate properties, built custom-designed yachts, and co-founded an international chamber music festival. His passion for exploring the human spirit continues to inspire his life and writing. He has published four other volumes of poetry and four novels.
