Synopsis

Jim Davis follows up his first collection, Assumption, with Earthmover. Davis delves more deeply into love, loss, death, and despair, but with a light touch. His deft use of language leavens the themes, his poetry expands beyond the limits of mood. A sophisticated sophomore effort, Earthmover benefits from being read in conjunction with Assumption.
