Carol J. Amato is the author of twenty books and over 175 articles. A faculty member at the university level, Ms. Amato teaches writing, anthropology, and management classes. Ms. Amato has a B.A. in Spanish and French from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon, and an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology from California State University - Fullerton in Fullerton, California. She is a current board member of the Writers' Club of Whittier, a professional writers' workshop, and a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She was a board member of International PEN, Orange County Chapter, for several years and served as president of the Professional Writers of Orange County for three years. She was a board member of the Orange County section of the Independent Writers of Southern California for five years. She is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in Orange County, and the World Who's Who of Women.
