Recognised as the most popular children's book author of the 20th century, Theodore Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) had a career in illustration that varied widely before he wrote his first juvenile book. Before writing his first children's book "And to Think that I Saw it on Mulberry Street", published in 1937, Geisel worked as a political cartoonist, an advertising illustrator and a documentary filmmaker.
