VJ is fascinating, and anyone who wants to read about it should check out my book (of course), and also other recent books on the topic: Timothy Jaeger's VJ: Live Cinema Unraveled, D-Fuse's VJ: Audio-Visual Art and VJ Culture, and Xárene Eskandar's 'vE-'jA: Art + Technology of Live Audio/Video. One year ago there were no books about VJ, and now there are at least four.
Synopsis

Until recently, the field was only open to people with expensive equipment. But now that laptops have become fast enough to handle video mixing and digital projectors have become brighter, lighter and cheaper, the day of the VJ - or Visual Performer - is here. The VJ experience has evolved from a cutting edge art form to the newest and fastest growing electronic fad. Despite its strong grassroots movement, there have been no books on the subject - until now. "The VJ Book", written by a former editor at "Wired" magazine, combines straight how-to information with cultural context and history.
