James Otis Thach has a penchant for rhyme that was inspired by his grandmother, who used to exchange funny little verses with him on birthdays and holidays. He worked for a number of years in the entertainment industry. When not racking his brain trying to rhyme words like sauerkraut and purple, he runs a tutoring company with his brother. A Child's Guide to Common Household Monsters is his first picture book. David Udovic: For thirty-four years David has made his living as a commercial and fine artist, working in the areas of physical and industrial design, sculpture, limited-edition serigraphy, oil and acrylic paintings, and murals. He has also provided numerous illustrations for children's magazines, including Ladybug, Spider, and Hopscotch. A Child's Guide to Common Household Monsters is his second picture book.
