Synopsis

Later, in a chance encounter at the battle of Gettysburg, Luke critically wounds Jack after hearing him tell his partner of Sally’s locket –key to the hidden treasure. From then on, the destinies of these men, and Sally, are linked—and decided—by the stolen gold.The novel is set in locations from Skaneateles Lake, to Binghamton, to southern Pennsylvania and Gettysburg, and the Blue Ridge of Virginia. The book features a Broome/Tioga/Tompkins Civil War regiment, the 137th NY. These were ordinary men, with a remarkable leader, Col. David Ireland, that became an extraordinary regiment that helped save the Battle of Gettysburg at Culp's Hill on the night of July 2, 1863. The regiment's history is woven into the fictional story of Luke Kellogg and his Southern counterpart, Jack Lewis.
