Synopsis

The discussion of monograms and initials covers techniques for applique, embroidery, and cross-stitch and provides two full cross-stitch alphabets for monogramming. The plain needlework section includes sewing buttons and buttonholes, hemming, piping, pleating, fancy lettering, and stitch variations. For crocheters the book features doll clothes, bedspreads, and shawls and jackets for ladies, and for knitters there are a number of garments for children including gloves, hoods, baby booties, and stockings.
