Synopsis

This modest little monograph contains an extremely animating chapter taken from the book, Meditations on the Love of God, composed by Father Nicholas Grou, S.J, one of the most gifted doctors of the interior life ever to grace Christendom. That chapter, added by the author to the "Meditations", was entitled "The Gift of Self to God". It is reprinted here, in this handy pocket- sized book, along with two other complementary essays by the same author. Those essays, "Christian Thoughts" and "Marks of True Piety", from which the first may have been part of the original, but it like the second essay was not found in subsequent English editions of the work. These missing chapters were made available in German to Loreto Publications by the St. Robert Bellarmine Foundation. Another friend, and accomplished linguist, Mr. Michael Miller, translated these two essays for us directly from the German. Loreto gratefully acknowledges him and the St. Robert Bellarmine Foundation for helping to make a good part of this timely and timeless spiritual masterpiece available again to English-speaking Catholics.
