Tracking the Rabbit is a little book of poems and writing that deals with the author's efforts to come to terms with the death of his father. The "Rabbit" in question is a symbolic creature that the author uses to project his feelings of confusion, denial and, finally, acceptance of his father's departure from this world. The Rabbit comes to Mr. Armstrong in a dream and he uses this image to create a tale that tells about his journey with his father, his efforts to close the gap between them, and in the end to "help" him let go of his father so that the father can "move on". There are elements of native American shamanism in this story. The author hopes that the reader will gain some insight by reading this group of poems and writing as a whole...the combination of these poems forms a compelling picture of a son's love for his father.
