Synopsis

A chapbook series of little books with distinctive red covers, each one the size of a quarter sheet of paper, this series began in mid 1998 with the publication of "Fool's Paradise" and "El Pagano" by RD Armstrong. By the end of 2008, 59 titles had been published, with more planned for 2009. Some of the small press' most notable poets have taken part in this series, published by the Lummox Press.

About the Author

RD Armstrong started Lummox Press in 1994. Initially it was a self-publishing operation, but in 1996 he began publishing the Lummox Journal -- a small magazine that was available by subscription for 11 years. It was said to be one of the best monthly little mags around. Then in 1998 RD began to publish the Little Red Book series. His own work has been featured in eleven of the titles. Many other poets have also been featured including A.D. Winans, Bill Shields, Scott Wannberg, Will Taylor, Jr., Linda Lerner, Todd Moore, Gerald Locklin and Lyn Lifshin. RD continues to publish the series, as well as, larger format books. He is active on the web and tries to help out new poets whenever asked.
