Synopsis

Ordinary mother, Wendy Hamilton, writes about her journey home-schooling her four children. Although she home-schooled for over twenty years, initially she was opposed to the idea. Through hilarious stories and transparent honesty, Wendy shares what changed her mind and how she got the job done. Because she was not fond of childish behaviour, or everlastingly patient, Wendy searched for easy unconventional ways to foster her children’s learning while she continued to follow her passions of quilting and renovating her old house. Despite many days where nothing seemed to get done, Wendy’s children ended up well educated. Now you can have the benefit of her experience as she deals with the common issues a home-schooling mother faces. Late-blooming children, slow readers, socialization, feelings of insecurity, guilt, and exhaustion, are just some of the topics she addresses. If you are considering home-schooling, currently homeschooling, or merely curious to peek behind a closed door, this is a book for you.
