Synopsis

This wonderfully illustrated book is essentially a photographic guide to the fascinating diverse insect groups of the world. It encompasses all insect orders, including the likes of butterflies, dragonflies, beetles, ants and bees.

Each of the 1,000 stunning images was taken in the wild, in the insects’ natural surroundings. Using the simple observation that every picture is worth a thousand words, each image is presented with a caption that starts the process of discovery. When so many different lifestyles are possible, simple facts about what an insect does, why, where and how, can turn into novel and often weird tales.

Insects of the World is an essential reference for bug enthusiasts everywhere, from children fascinated with creepy crawlies right through to academics
