Synopsis
Fourteen centuries ago, on the hot desert sands of Karbala, Iraq, a small group of men, women, and children spend the night in prayer. Their enemies have denied them even water.
In the morning, the men will be slaughtered and their heads raised on spears. The women will be taken captive, hands chained to their necks. The children will be tormented, many will not make it.

About the Author
Sayed Muhammad-Mahdi al-Modarresi is an Iraqi-Australian Shia Muslim Theologian. He studied in the Islamic Seminaries in Damascus, Syria, and Qom, Iran. He also pursued academic studies in sociology, politics, and philosophy.Sayed Mahdi is widely known within the Shia community for his lectures in English, Arabic, and Farsi. He has authored books in several languages and regularly writes essays on a range of religious and contemporary topics.
