G R Armstrong has been a writer all his life but The Memory of the Beach would be considered his debut novel. Born in Canada to a Canadian mother and an Australian father he has lived most of his life in Australia. After leaving Adelaide in the 90's to live in Sydney to follow his rock and roll dreams he returned in the early 2000's to be near his family. From Sydney he toured in bands throughout the world and appeared on over twenty albums with various rock bands, none of whom were particularly successful.
