Synopsis
London to Plymouth, autumn 1958. Alice Scott boards the four-thirty train with twenty pounds to her name and nowhere to go.
By the time the Cockington Express rolls into Devon she has a new job, a new home, and a new employer - Samual Portman, Count of Devon, whose ex-wife Lady Elizabeth has just been found dead in the stables of Cockington Manor.
