About the Author

Raiche Pane was born in India with British lineage. Brought up as a westerner with English as his mother tongue, his parents sent him to the UK for a better life. But this was at the time of the infamous race riots and he found life difficult with much racial prejudice and discrimination. He draws on his own personal experiences and that of others in Getting a Life. Now retired from a career in the Civil Service, he lives in Notttingham with his wife of 35 years. They have a 32 year old son and a 30 year old daughter.
