Synopsis

"The fans of Austen will find a lot to enjoy" - from Holly H

"I am impressed with the author’s uncanny proficiency in writing in Austen's epigrammatic prose style" - from Jeff K

Three weddings and an engagement are the happy result of a trip to Bath for the season taken by Elizabeth Darcy, her husband and their younger sisters, Kitty and Georgianna. Nursing an aching heart due to a recent miscarriage, Elizabeth is encouraged to take the journey as a means of raising her depressed spirits in a fresh and convivial setting.

Courtship and conflict occur when familiar characters from all six of Jane Austen’s novels are joined by new players in the Austen firmament. Who will prevail in the struggle between intentional matchmakers and unintentional ones? Will new relationships develop naturally or be influenced by premeditated plans orchestrated to ensure rank and wealth are maintained?

New and unique storylines are introduced that pay tribute to the original works and reveal plots from her earlier canon. Will love conquer all or will commerce play a hand? Perhaps a bit of both? Whether you are a reader familiar with Austen’s novels or have never read any of them, you will have a uniquely satisfying experience being immersed in her Regency world of manners, mores, and romance.

About the Author

CATHERINE KELLY HEMINGWAY WAS A leading player in the digital marketing evolution that saw a paradigm shift in how we consume content. She was a global marketing leader for a Fortune 500 company introducing innovative delivery of content as it shifted from print to online and video. Frequent visits to London allowed her to spend time with a British friend who attended the same school in Reading as Jane Austen two centuries earlier and arranged driving trips to Chawton and Winchester. She acquired a copy of The Complete Novels of Jane Austen in a Winchester bookstore which she read cover to cover many times over. During the pandemic in 2020 she conjured the idea of bringing together characters from all six books and felt compelled to write her first novel, introducing familiar characters and retelling portions of original stories while introducing new characters and plot lines. She is now at work on a sequel to her sequel.
