Synopsis

This volume looks at the role that archivists and librarians play in compiling collections - do they "curate" history? To what extent are they gatekeepers of knowledge? It shines a light on pressing topical issues within library and information services (LIS)- to encompass selection, appraisal and accession, through to organisation and classification, and including promotion and use to ask pertinent questions about the field's future.
