About the Author

Carita Nyström was born in 1940 in Vasa, Finland. After years in Helsinki she now lives in Korsnäs. She studied for an MA in Nordic literature in 1968, and has since published 20 books of poetry, prose and essays, edited books and contributed to anthologies. Between 1991 and1993 she worked as leading writer in Ostrobothnia. She has taught creative writing since the eighties, especially with children & young adults and in the last five years she has worked with Wildlife Vasa Nature Film Festival, making films with schools in the region.
