Nirmala Lee PhD (Lond), MA, BA, DipTD, CAIIB, PGCTLHE, FCIB, PFHEA, is Associate Professor of Banking and Finance and Courses Manager for Banking, Finance and Economics at London Metropolitan University. Before joining the University, she was a senior banker and banking consultant at leading international banks in London and elsewhere. Nirmala has served as member on the Financial Services Authority (FSA)/National Institute for Adult Continuing Education's (NIACE) Financial Literacy Advisory Group, Financial Services Skills Council and other bodies. She has also taught as a Visiting Lecturer, at universities and bank training centres including at Doha, ESCEM Tours-Poitiers and EDHEC Nice in France, and as Visiting Faculty and Scholar, New York University. Nirmala was an invited expert Panel Speaker at the G20 Think-Tank T20 Forum at China; she has given interviews for Zhejiang Television, China and for the BBC World Service on Forex rigging by bankers. She has presented papers internationally in the USA, Cuba, Spain, Czech Republic, India, Hong Kong and Cyprus. A gold-medallist from her master's programme, and a PhD from the University of London, she is Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB) and Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA).
Vijay Lee MBA Finance (Cass), MA (Econ), BA (Econ), CAIIB, PGCHE, SFHEA, is Associate Professor and Head of the Division of Accounting, Finance and Economics at London South Bank University. A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and member of the Indian Institute of Bankers, he was previously assistant general manager in one of the world's top 50 banks, specialising in business finance and corporate lending. He has taught banking and finance at universities and bank training centres. Vijay was an invited expert Panel Speaker at the G20 Think-Tank T20 Forum at China; he has presented papers internationally in Cuba, Spain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and the UK. He served for many years as Chief Examiner for corporate finance and funding for the Association of Corporate Treasurers UK. He has also served as Examiner for other professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) for their professional examinations. He completed a research project on "Small Business Lending Criteria of UK Banks" on behalf of Her Majesty's Treasury during his MBA in Finance at Cass Business School.
