Andrew George was born and raised in London. Following a spell as a voluntary support worker with the London Borough of Islington s sensory impairment team, he read English at Oxford University where he served as the student newspaper gossip columnist and the Producer of the annual touring comedy sketch show, The Oxford Revue . Andrew qualified as a barrister in 1997, and has since practiced law at London s Blackstone Chambers specialising in commercial, financial services and media and entertainment law. He has regularly been involved in litigation arising out of international conflict and cross-border political disputes involving, amongst others, entities and individuals from Russia, Iraq and Libya, and has acted in many of the highest-profile cases arising out of the 2008 financial crash. He was appointed Queen s Counsel in 2015. Since 2008, he has also been Chairman of Trustees at the East End charity, Spitalfields City Farm, which conducts outreach work and on-site horticultural projects in the heart of London s Tower Hamlets. Andrew s poems have appeared in many leading magazines and journals, including Magma and the Rialto. This is his first collection of poetry.
