Based on a true story, this is a biographical tale of the escape from Singapore of Major Colin Milton-Brown (before the fall to the advancing Japanese) along with the battalion's wages in gold sovereigns.
Major Milton-Brown makes his way back to England by car, train, truck, camel, horse, ship, submarine, barge and shanks pony, a journey that takes two years and is lubricated by the liberal application of the gold sovereigns and whiskey.
He collects a gun-toting, gorgeous Egyptian prostitute along the way and gets involved with actions against the Japanese, Turks, Italians, Arabs, Germans and even the Americans.
Unusually, it does tell of his life after the War and how he became a millionaire thanks to his old enemies.
This is a fictionalised account of a true story, extracted from the original Major over several evenings by use of single malt. This story really happened...
